Instead, it exposes the less sexy things that lust can awaken, like viciousness, deceit and amoral longing. By attaching these traits to two sisters -- one a lissome 15-year-old, the other a chubby pubescent -- Breillat ensures that viewers will pay attention. But the writer-director isn't out to exploit -- at least not most of the time - - as she portrays the girls' wantonness and wicked sibling rivalry moviedatabase in powerful, unsparing detail. This is a different kind of girls' movie, and certainly not a pretty one, moviedatabase especially its horrific head-scratcher of an ending. Elena (Roxane Mesquida) and younger sister Anais (Anais Reboux) are on holiday in a French coastal village with their workaholic father and inattentive mother.
