He reluctantly referred me instead to the local Mental Health Service to let them decide what to do with me. That looks more scary written down than it actually turned out to be. :-) After an intake interview and a very long wait, I finally got an appointment with a psychotherapist a couple of months ago. I knew that once I stopped feeling sick I'd start eating, so instead of postponing the therapy until after the baby is born, I decided to go ahead and see what would happen. The therapist specialises in disordered eating, and rather comfortingly, her ideas about how I can mend my relationship with food are similar to Geneen Roth's. |
